Posting Guidelines

The following types of post are on-topic for this community:

• Advertising pinch hits/emergency creators needed for exchanges, big bangs, giftbox-style fests, and similar events
• Posting links to places that pinch hits can be found or advertised, such as the Yuletide pinch hit email list or Discord channels that advertise pinch hits

Please do not post other types of advertisements, such as signup periods and non-pinch hit claims. Fandom Calendar is a great place for that sort of ad!

A few basic rules:

• Only one active post per round of event at a time.
  • You don't need to update the list of requests in a post immediately when one gets claimed, but please remove the last post for an event round when you add a new one.
  • The mod will remove the "urgent" tag once it's no longer relevant to a post, but it's appreciated if posters keep an eye on that themselves, too!
  • No need to delete the last post you make for a given round of the event.
• There is no limit to the number of times you can advertise pinch hits for an event, but please keep posting frequency to no more than once a week per event.
  • Exception: You may post more than once a week to add urgent post-deadline pinch hits as they come up.
• In your post, please include:
  • A subject including the name of the event
  • A link to the event's rules and/or announcements community
  • A link to the location where requests can be viewed in full and claimed
  • The due date for the pinch hits
• In your tags, please include:
  • Due date
  • Medium of the requests or mediums allowed by the exchange (details below)

Suggested post subject:

Event Name Pinch Hits Due [date]

Suggested post content: <strong>Event:</strong> <strong>Event link:</strong> <strong>Pinch hit link:</strong> <strong>Due date:</strong>

You can also include a brief summary of the pinch hits, such as a list of fandoms for each. However, please link out to an external location where the pinch hits can be viewed and claimed instead of asking pinch hitters to claim them here.

Tag types:

Due - indicate whether the pinch hits are due urgently (intended for deadlines within a week, post-deadline pinch hits, or pinch hits that are needed for an archive to go live). Otherwise, give the year and month of the deadline. Example formats:

• Due: Urgent
• Due: 2021 June
• Due: Claimed (to be used for old posts)

Medium - include as many as are relevant, and feel free to add other subtags for mediums that aren't suggested here. Example formats:

• Medium: Art
• Medium: Fic
• Medium: Meta
• Medium: Vid

Fandom - optionally, you may tag the fandoms involved in the current requests. For more consistent filter results, it's recommended that you use the AO3 canonical tags. If the AO3 canonical tag is piped, please use the text after the pipe (also for consistent filtering and sorting). Examples:

• Fandom: Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling
• Fandom: The Untamed (TV)
  • (rather than Fandom: 陈情令 | The Untamed (TV))

Hello! Could you please create some more deadline tags, ie "due: 2021 august" and "due: 2021 September"? New tags must be created by admins. Thank you.

Thank you for pointing that out! I've updated the permissions so members can create tags (though I'll keep an eye out to make sure they're consistent). I've created some deadline tags for coming months.
